Client: Top Secret
Location: Top Secret
Works: Race Track marking
Little did we realise when we took a call on a recent Monday morning that it would start a chain of events that would involve us completing a top secret mission. A marking job that would be seen by people all over the world.
We didn’t have to meet anyone under the clock at Charing Cross station carrying a copy of the times and a secret phrase, and no Martinis, shaken or stirred, were involved. We did though have to mobilise our top team in double quick time and swear them to secrecy.
The mission, which we chose to accept, was to remark a race track. Not just any old race track but a very special racetrack. Possibly one of the most famous racetracks in the world despite most people not knowing it’s location. The client, well we can’t say except that they are in the film and TV production business.
The first challenge was that the job had to be surveyed, quoted and completed in just 6 days so that filming could start at the location the following Monday morning.
Our reconnaissance team arrived on location on Thursday, surveyed the track and produced a design, a plan of attack and a quote.
Once we were given the go-ahead the way was clear for our crack team to get the job done.
Setting off at dawn on Saturday armed only with red and white one pack epoxy paint and their trusty airless paint sprayer our intrepid crew set about their task. Working quickly but carefully they laid 471m2 of paint transforming the tired tarmac into a bright, and shiny race track which would look great on camera.
The results were fabulous and although we can’t shout about who the client was and which venue it was we can take great pride in a job well done and the fact that our work will be seen by 350 million of people in 170 countries.
