Earlier this month, Stuart Minty (middle of photo) fund raiser for KCT had come down to Hi Way Services where Danny and Lidia presented him a £1000 cheque for the trust which help fund equipment and research for the hospitals and universities.
It’s always a pleasure having Stuart at the office to hear about the latest projects and what they have achieved throughout the year. KCT are always looking for new projects that they can support with one of their recent projects are from three scholars at the University of Kent. Their research projects are on ovarian, breast and lung cancer. You can read more of this on the Kent Cancer Trust website on their latest project news.
We are honoured to continue our support with KCT and see the progress of the work that comes from the funding. Thank you Stuart for taking the time to come down and we look forward to seeing you next time!

Hi Way Services Ltd are please to announce we have sponsored Littlehampton Youth, a team local to our Sussex Depot. The team has a close connection with the company as Contracts Manager Dave Bigg's son plays for the team.
The Youth FC was formed in 2003. It's a friendly club that takes on players of all abilities. The coaches are all voluntary, running their retrospective teams showing their love and commitment to the sport. Jordan Farnden (head coach) is one volunteer at the club. Jordan joined in June 2014, he was offered the position as head coach midway into that football season and later became manager in June 2017. Besides coaching at Littlehampton Youth FC, he also coaches for Chelsea Foundation and in Portsmouth for the local community. Jorden is also a sports technician at Greatham Primary School.
The future is bright as they have just been promoted to the A division for the first time, they're the first Littlehampton Youth team to be promoted to this [read on]
Wednesday 4th July I made my way to the Marlowe Academy where they hold the annual athletics event for the schools in Thanet. For those unfamiliar, the schools in Thanet come together to compete in several track and field events in hopes that they win the Thanet cup.
The athletics is kindly sponsored by Miles & Bars and Hi Way Services.
Micky, one of many coaches who helps organise the event speaks highly about how the sponsorships have helped. Micky said, “Before the sponsors, the event was held at Ursuline College, with few staff looking after the whole event which became very difficult. Now we have a bigger field and track, professional coaches to help run and organise the day and professional catering who provide us with several delicious food options, and drinks throughout the evening. This allows teachers to sit with their students and socialize with other schools and parents. It’s such a fantastic atmosphere that brings a festival [read on]
Here at Hi-Way Services we always have an ethos of no job is too large or too small. Although the majority of our works are large schemes on term maintenance contracts we also do lots of smaller private works. When our neighbours Barretts asked us to install new line markings in their Canterbury compound we jumped at the opportunity of working on our door step. Over the years we have done many of Barretts dealership forecourts and have become their line marking contractor of choice. The most recent works consisted of parking bays, hatching, numbers, letters and arrows.
Our contact sent us an email after the works were finished saying, “I was nervous about the process due to the number of vehicles we have on site. However, the attitude and helpfulness of the team you supplied made sure there was no inconvenience to us. The difference it has made to the site is already measurable. It looks amazing and is proving to be very practical. Thank you all for the effort you have put [read on]
Another year, another Open Week at Northforeland Golf Club. For the past 21 years in the month of June Northforeland have hosted their open week which is usually a week packed full of good golf and even better weather, a certain player even losing his shoes due to the heat (pictured below)
Hi-Way Services sponsored and hosted the fifth day of the week, Wednesday 21st with Team Medley being the format of choice for the event. This turned out to be one of the best days of the week in regard to the weather with the sun firmly beating down all day with the added bonus of the course being in immaculate condition – a massive well done must go to the green keeping staff for the tremendous effort and success in getting the course in such amazing condition.
With the good weather came great scoring with very low scores being posted from most of the field, none however, could get close enough to the eventual winners who posted an unbelievable score of 17 under [read on]

Repairing an unsightly or dangerous pothole in your drive or car park is quite simple and well within the ability of even the inexperienced DIYer. You can purchase everything you need to repair your pothole at our webshop.
Ensure that the pothole is free of loose material or standing water. Loose pieces of tarmac, stones and other debris should be removed with a brush.
Spray a good coat SCI cold joint sealer to the pothole surface and edges. This helps the Ultracrete to stick properly to the surface and acts as a waterproofer to protect the repair from further water ingress.
Pour Ultracrete Permanent Pothole repair into the pothole and spread it evenly ensuring that the hole is completely filled and the material stands proud of the surrounding surface by about an inch and a half or 4-5cm.
Tamp down the Ultracrete using a tamper until it is [read on]
