First Week Back
The festivities are over for another year along with the first week back at work. I would like to start by saying on behalf of all the Hi-Way team, we hope you had a very Merry Christmas and an enjoyable New Year. For us we are continuing the year where we left off in 2017 in regard to fleet improvement. Within the next couple of weeks, we will be taking delivery of a brand new Multi-mark and feeder lorry, which due to high demand from clients this cannot come soon enough. This will take our machine fleet to 1 Winter Grun buggy and 3 Multi-mark Machines. Photos and information on the lorry will follow in the coming weeks.
Also in our bid to become a greener more efficient company the Contract Managers have swapped out the diesel VW’s of 4 years for environmentally friendly, more efficient BMW hybrids. Some of the benefits of this swap is the eye watering difference in miles per gallon with the VW’s accomplishing roughly 40-50mpg compared to the BMW’s 134.5mpg. Another staggering difference is the CO2 emissions with BMW once again crushing the dated VW’s. the BMW only emits 40g/km, where as the VWs are triple that at 120g/km. once again more information and photos will follow in the coming weeks.
Lastly, it is that time of year when we invite Stuart Minty in from Kent Cancer Trust to have a catch up on how their year has gone along with handing over our donation to help with their tireless work. The donation is a percentage of the companies profits. This will be the 5th year they have been one of our nominated charities, the reason that they are an obvious choice out of the many great charities fighting for good causes was due to the fantastic specialist works they do in aiding pain relief to those suffering with the illness as well as the research they put into creating better, more effective treatments.
